6 DAY COURSE
Friday-Sunday, 10AM-6PM
August 21-23
august 28-30

Limited to 4 participants

Spend six days in the studio creating a ~4 ft. clay figure! This intensive is designed for artists ready to work at scale. Open to intermediate–advanced participants (clay experience required).

The workshop draws from my approach to building guardian figures—forms that carry weight, presence, and intention. We’ll focus on developing structure, gesture, and surface at a monumental scale.

This course is informed by six years of sculptural practice, including training at MICA, studying under master sculptors across the country, and international residencies.

We’ll cover:
  • Building strong, hollow forms for large-scale stability
  • Working in sections and joining for height and volume
  • Sculpting gesture, proportion, and expressive anatomy
  • Adding detail and surface design on a monumental scale
  • Drying, prepping, and loading large work for firing

Includes:
  • 150 lbs of clay per student (6 boxes of red 547 sculpture clay from standard)
  • Tools & studio equipment
  • Once-firing to cone 6. We will not be glaze firing.
  • Light refreshments
  • Demonstrations by Isolina every day.
